Amitabh and Shahrukh in Bhoothnath



One of the much expected latest hindi movies of Bollywood ‘Bhoothnath’ is feat to be released on movie 9th May 2008. The flick ‘Bhoothnath’ is about a bond between a departed granddaddy (which is played by Amitabh Bachchan) and his grandson (played by Aman Siddique). The granddaddy returns to his grandson as a ghost named ‘Bhoothnath’. Famous Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla is playing the role of widowed mother of the boy and Shahrukh Khan is playing the role of father of the boy.
After a long gap, ‘Bhoothnath’, one of the most expected upcoming hindi movies brings together the two supremos — Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. In between, rumours were flying left, right and centre about the tension between the two actors and that the erst beatific friends movie interested in working with each other anymore. The director of the flick Vivek Sharma says, “Shah Rukh Khan plays the


husband of Juhi Chawla in the film. He is the father of Aman Siddique. SRK is a very naughty father who encourages his son to play pranks. Since he is not an integral character, we have suspended his content for the film. He will be seen in a movie days in the film’s last week prior to release, promotions. We wanted to use him as a surprise package. Lot of people feel that he is just there for two-three minutes, but he is there for 22 minutes in the film. If we tell more about him, the surprise element will go away. Also, the flick belongs to movie (Aman Siddique) and Bhoothnath (Amitabh Bachchan).We did not want to counsel the audience by promising that it is a Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan film.”
‘Bhoothnath’ is the seventh flick where Shahrukh and Amitabh are acting together. Other films are Mohabbatein, Veer Zaara, Paheli, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham etc. Other castings of this flick are Rajpal Yadav, Satish Shah, and Tejas etc. In an interview, the directive actor of movie flick Amitabh Bachchan has been asked that why he is doing ‘Bhoothnath’? Amitabh Bachchan replied, “I and Kuku (Ravi Chopra) are very old friends. He used to often become to me with this ‘ghost’ news but I never showed much interest. At one point I even said no but then the director Vivek Sharma started crying so I took an emotional selection and said yes. It was a very nostalgic experience shooting for the film.” Also he has explained working experience with SRK, when he has been asked about SRK, “We have done many films together. He is a very sacred actor and it’s always beatific working with him. He has a small role in the flick but a beatific one. We had a nice time shooting and used to play games and chat during our free time. I wish he was movie for the event.”
